I do hope Iain is wrong about the facts of the Salmond case "probably" never being known now. Even posthumously Alex deserves the truth to come out.

For this article to day Alex was massively overweight” with zero reference to “any other stress factors” in his life over the past few years is shameful cowardly journalism.

Proper journalists (in modern Scotland) have been jailed for truth telling. While you - Iain - continue to play the “sage” while taking the company coin.

Other than this!!! A good article.

I can’t see why the truth about the Salmond case shouldn’t come out. The people of Scotland deserve to know the depths the Murrells sank to in their desperation to hold on to power.

I agree - if Scotland wants to call itself an open democracy then the facts do have to come out. I'm more a cock-up than conspiracey person. So I believe the Scottish public should know the extent of the incompetance of the civil service and whatever it is that motivates the occasionally strange decisions of COPFS.

I also believe that the Scottish public should know the facts of the Salmond affair before going down the route of dispensing with juries in sexual assault/rape trials. Because the proposal seems to have grown out of a failure to secure to Mr Salmond's conviction. As far as I am aware there were no such proposals until then. I'm happy to be corrected if that assertion is wrong.
