Edinburgh University has cancelled or refused to allow a number of events because they "couldn't guarantee the safety of participants". I note the shameful rush by papers like the Observer and others to blame the medical profession- the Observer reading classes don't like us and never have. probably because we understand science and many of us pointed out you can't change biological sex.

The young people were failed by Stonewall, Mermaids and others who treated any disagreement with their beliefs as sacrilidge and acted in a manner not dissimilar to Torquemada, the rack and stake being replaced by HR investigations, intimidation, and accusations of being a fascist or worse. These ideologues recruited a few useful idiot clinicians in GIDS and elsewhere, but make no mistake the life of a whistle blower anywher in the NHS is a periolous one- most loose their livlihoods. The postion of someone who blows and whislte and contradicts a quasi- reliigious belief is even worse. So I can't find it in my heard to blame some at least of the doctors involved in this.
